BEGINNING OF THE YEAR INFORMATION & Handbook

 This is for all students at the beginning of the year and for students transferring in during the middle of the year.  

1. Join Remind 101 - mandatory for students. optional for parents. Parents please indicate your child's name in the App

2. Download these free Apps onto your electronic device, if able:

• Remind 101 (Students. Parents, optional)
• Schoology - Be sure to accept notifications (Students)
• Google Drive (Students)
• Google Docs, Sheets & Slides (Students & Parents, optional)

3. Follow us on Social Media (see below)

4. Subscribe to the Choir Calendar (major events only, not after school rehearsals. Students & Parents)

2.  CutTime (Students & Parents mandatory)  Beginning June 30, we will no longer be using the Charms system, which is how I typically email you. From now on, we will be using CutTime.  It is a system that utilizes text messaging for communication. If I have your cell phone numbers (parents and students), you will be receiving a text message from Cut Time. That text message will include a “magic link” which you should save as a bookmark/on your home page on your device.  You can go to your student’s dashboard at any time using that magic link. There is no need to save a password.  This will be our primary method for communication for most information. It is also how we keep track of financials and more.  (We will continue to use Remind 101 for short reminders, etc.)

**Each student & guardian must have a unique phone number. When I imported from Charms, if I did not have a phone number, I used a fake 555 number. If that is the case, you will receive an email instead.  If you would like to receive the text messages, please email the correct phone number so I can make the change.

**Both parents AND students must have access to the personalized link.

**Where I would have typically emailed info through Charms, now CutTime will send a text message with your magic link to your dashboard so that you can see the "email".  At any time, you can go to the dashboard and see the information previously sent to you. You no longer have to worry about lost emails!

Please read the Choir Handbook and do the following:

Complete both Digital Forms:

1. Student Form

• Students must log into their school account to fill out the Student Form!  If it tells you that you need permission, click "Learn More." Then click on the profile picture at the right hand corner of the screen.  That will allow you to switch to your Humble ISD account and complete the quiz.

2. Parent Form

Print out the last 2 pages of the Choir Handbook (hard copies are available in the Choir Room) and: 

3. Return the Medical History Form filled out (hard copy returned or pdf emailed to Mrs. Robison)

4. Return the Choir Expense Form with cash/check/money order (payable to SCHS Choir Booster Club) or return it after you paid digitally.

2. Zelle - SCHSChoirBC@gmail.com (Include Student Name & “Activity Fee” in Note) 
3. Pay through CutTime using a credit/debit card by using your unique link. (fees applied)

5. Choir Handbook Quiz. (Students)  All answers can be found in the Choir Handbook, in the Choir Classroom and in the "Various Procedures" document. 

• Students must log into their school Google account in the browser to take the Quiz!  If it tells you that you need permission, click "Learn More." Then click on the profile picture at the right hand corner of the screen.  That will allow you to switch to your Humble ISD account and complete the quiz.  This will be one of the first grades in Choir.

Self-Transportation Update Form - This question is already asked in the Handbook Digital Parent Form. This is only needed if there is a change from the original Digital Parent Handbook Form. In other words, only fill this form out if the parent has changed their mind about allowing their student to drive and/or ride with another choir student in lieu of riding on the bus.
