Student Scholarship Opportunities

Returning SCHS Choir Students can apply for a Voice Lesson Scholarship in April for the following year.  These scholarships help make voice lessons more affordable.  The Choir Handbook has details about the requirements and criteria.  Recipients are announced at the annual Choir Banquet. 

Awards are:

• Presto Scholarship - $40/month – August-April for a total of $360
• Allegro Scholarship - $30/month – August-April for a total of $270
• Andante Scholarship - $20/month – August-April for a total of $180

The Application will require the following documents to be submitted:

1. Short Answer Portion of the Application
2. Signature Page

The SCHS Choir students are encouraged to participate in All-State Choir Camps in the summer to help them be successful in the All-State process and to improve their voices overall. In order to assist students with the cost associated with the camps, the SCHS Booster Club has 8 $100 scholarships to help make these camps more affordable.  The Choir Handbook has details about the requirements and criteria for this scholarship. Recipients are announced at the annual Choir Banquet.

• Students/parents will be responsible for registering their student for a camp and paying for that camp.
• Awardees will be reimbursed $100 (via check) in the Fall once the following criteria are met:
  • Students must submit a reimbursement form with a copy of the receipt for the camp and a picture of the student at the camp.
  • Please be aware that there will likely be several months between when the camp was paid for and when reimbursement will be made.

Senior SCHS Choir Students can apply for a Senior College Scholarship in April for the following year.  These scholarships help reduce the cost of higher education for some of the SCHS Choir students.  The Choir Handbook has details about the requirements and criteria.  Recipients are announced at the annual Choir Banquet. The Booster Club awards 4 $750 scholarships annually. 

The application will require the following documents to be submitted:

1. Essay - "How Choir has positively affected my life and how/why I want to continue my involvement in music." ( 1-3 pages.)
2. Transcript showing GPA (transcript should include 3rd 9 weeks of the senior year)
